Signage for Certified Collection Centers

The following are examples of signs available (in English and Spanish unless otherwise noted) free to certified collection centers. (Select an image to see a larger version and use your browser's "back" button to return to this page.)

Required Certified Collection Center Identification Signs

Board-approved signage is required at all certified centers. Public Resources Sec. 48660 (b) (4) states "...Certified centers shall post a combined symbolic and informational exterior sign of at least two feet by three feet in size, or shall post an exterior symbolic sign of at least two feet by 18 inches in size. If the exterior symbolic sign is posted, the combined symbolic and informational sign shall be concurrently posted so that it is easily readable from the location where the used oil is received from the public..."

These signs are available only from the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB). To obtain these signs please fill out the used oil sign request form and e-mail the form to Steve Lambert. Note (Sept. 3, 2008): Due to the lack of a State Budget, your order may arrive incomplete until signs are acquired by the Board.

18"x24" Symbolic Language: English and Spanish Materials: Aluminum, Styrene, or Static Cling	24"x36" Informational and Symbolic Language: English only Materials: Aluminum or Styrene
ILLEGAL to Abandon Used Oil Signs These signs can be posted in the window(s) of the facility and/or by an outdoor used oil tank to let customers know that it is illegal to leave used oil outside the facility at any time.
18"x24" Stop! It's Illegal to Abandon Used Oil... Language: English and Spanish Material: Aluminum
Optional: Stop (Oil Contaminants) Signs This sign specifies the contaminants of used oil, and can be posted by the collection tank or where the oil is taken from the customer.

9"x11" Stop!...Remember Used Oil Cannot be Mixed With... Language: English and Spanish Material: Laminated Paper

Recycle Used Oil Filter Signs These signs can be posted in the window(s) of the facility to let customers know that the facility accepts used oil filters from public.
