Training and Assistance

The Comprehensive Trip Log is significantly different from the manifest and tire trip log forms that were used up to this point. The CIWMB, in an effort to assist you in complying with the new form and regulations, has developed several types of assistance including a guidance manual, workshops, and online help.

Training Materials

You may obtain training materials (guidance manuals, field reference guides, bookmarks) in English and Spanish by ordering online, calling the toll-free waste tire hotline at (866) 896-0600, or by submitting a written request by mail. When ordering, please specify the quantity and whether the English or Spanish version is desired.

• Comprehensive Trip Log (CTL) Training (WinZip, 30.1 MB). Download this self-extracting, zip file to view a presentation about the Waste Tire Manifest Program.

File download instructions:

1. After you select the CTL training above, a File Download dialog will appear. Select the Run button.
2. Select the Unzip button from the WinZip Self-Extractor dialog to unzip all files to your "c" drive in a folder named "CTLTrain."
3. Locate the "CTLTrain" folder on your "c" drive and select the Play.bat file to launch the presentation.

• Comprehensive Trip Log Guidance Manual: This manual provides specific direction to the roles and responsibilities of the regulated community in complying with the requirements of waste tire manifest system. A printed copy may be requested by e-mail at WasteTires@ciwmb.ca.gov.
• Field Reference Guide: This one-page (double-sided) laminated guide summarizes information from the Guidance Manual--providing instruction for waste tire haulers on completing CIWMB's Comprehensive Trip Log form.

Training Sessions

Special on-site training is available by request only (e-mail us at WasteTires@ciwmb.ca.gov). Remember, failure to comply with the new manifesting requirements may result in suspension or cancellation of your hauler registration in addition to monetary penalties.
