Reuse Assistance Grants Program and Reuse Resources

The Reuse Assistance Grants Program is a cyclical and competitive program that was developed by the California Integrated Waste Management Board to provide the initiative and incentives for local public agencies to promote and apply the concept of reuse by developing or expanding reuse activities at the local public agency. For the purpose of this grant program, reuse is defined as using an item over again in its current form without significant processing that alters its material structure.

Eligibility: An eligible applicant is a "local public agency" defined as a city, county, or regional agency that has obligations to develop and implement waste reduction programs pursuant to the requirements set forth in Public Resources Code § 40900 et seq. All local public agencies in California are eligible to apply for funding, and may apply individually or regionally. Partnerships between local public agencies and private entities (e.g., businesses, nonprofits, etc.) are allowable.

Current/Next Grant Cycles: Visit the Applicants page for information available on the current cycle and/or the next cycle.
