Food Banks and Rescue Programs

The "Good Samaritan Food Donation Act" (Public Law 104-210) protects donors from civil and criminal liability should the product donated in good faith later cause harm to the needy recipient. Their second largest source of food comes through their Second Harvest affiliation. Three to four pallets of food are deadheaded by Safeway from Santa Rosa to Del Norte each month. Their purpose is to provide nutritional supplies on a monthly basis to low income families.
