Castro Valley Sanitary District's E-waste Collection Day (CVSD)--Alameda County
Date: Saturday, July 14, 2007
Time: 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m.
Location: Canyon Middle School

Free to Alameda County residents. Please bring your Waste Management bill insert or photo ID for resident verification.

Collection will include computers, monitors, laptops, cables, office equipment and computer peripherals (printers, keyboards, mouse, fax/copy machines, typewriters, etc.), cell phones and accessories, household batteries, televisions and consumer electronics (VCR's, telephones, radios, stereos, CD players, console TV's) and fluorescent light bulbs and tubes.

E-waste collected during this event will be sorted by Computers in Education and Computer Recycling Center staff to determine which materials will be recycled and which will be refurbished. Refurbished computers will be donated to local schools for reuse.

City of Redding Auction
Occurs on the last Monday of each month (in the case of a Monday holiday, the auction will be held on the following business day) starting at 9:00 a.m. Direct any questions to Solid Waste Customer Service at (530) 224-6201 or visit the city's auction web page. Items available include:

Del Norte Regional Recycling and Transfer Station--Ventura County
Services all Ventura County residents (no businesses or nonprofits). Identification is required (driver's license or utility bill) to confirm county residency. Open Monday-Saturday: 7:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. (No appointment is necessary.) Items accepted include:

*Please handle cathode ray tube (CRT) items with care. There is a limit of three residential CRT items per Ventura County household per month.

"Kreature Komforts" Linen Reuse Program--Castro Valley
The PetCo at 580 Marketplace in Castro Valley accepts clean, reusable linens, towels, mats, pillows, animal carriers, leashes, etc. for donation to local animal shelters.
