Number of Permitted Composting Operations and Facilities

This graph indicates the number of active, permitted composting operations and facilities in a given calendar year. Data from this graph was obtained from the Board's Solid Waste Information System Database (SWIS). Between 1989 and 2000, the number rose from less than 5 to almost 90, with the steepest rise between 1993 and 1998.
