Compost/Mulch Producer Indicator

The following chart and table show the change over time in the number of compost and mulch producers that are listed with the Waste Board’s Compost and Mulch Source List.

The Compost and Mulch Source list is a free marketing service for compost and mulch producers. Applications are mailed to all known compost and mulch producers and returned on a voluntary basis. Facilities that produce bulk compost may be listed. Extensive outreach efforts by CIWMB staff may be responsible for the continued increase in the number of facilities listed.

Compost Quality Indicator

The following chart and table show the number of compost facilities voluntarily registered in California. This voluntary registration program enables compost producers to assure their customers that quality and consistency of their compost products have been verified. Annual fees for facility registration are based on the quantity of compost produced.
