Inland Empire Landscape Management Outreach

CIWMB conducted a $49,000 landscape management outreach program with participating jurisdictions in Inland Empire region of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. A regional steering committee, working in alliance with local public agencies, waste management organizations, landscape industry associations, and educators, organized and implemented a series of outreach activities and events. The goals of the outreach campaign were to:

Reduce the volume of green waste disposed in regional landfills.
Increase usage of green materials source reduction and on-site management practices.
Increase usage of recycled organic products in urban landscapes.
Increase local jurisdictions’ green waste diversion rates to meet mandate requirements.
