Workshop on Construction and Demolition Waste Diversion Ordinances

The purpose of this workshop was to share information related to C&D diversion ordinances such as:

  • Adopting and implementing a C&D ordinance.
  • Working with the building industry and others.
  • Addressing infrastructure.
  • Setting thresholds and diversion requirements.
  • Verifying compliance.

Board staff made a brief presentation of the Board’s model ordinance, followed by two panels of experts who discussed:

  1. Local governments’ experience with adopting and implementing C&D diversion ordinances.
  2. Industry perspectives on implementing C&D diversion ordinances.

A question and answer (Q and A) session followed the second panel presentation.

The event was broadcast on the web and listeners were able to participate on line during the Q and A session.
