Jurisdiction and regional summary information helps decision makers identify trends, solve problems, and compare the performance of cities, counties, and regional agencies in reducing and diverting waste.

Available tools include:

  • California County Summary Information. These pages show maps of California county disposal destinations for 1999 through 2004. The inflow and outflow disposal destination data shows the total amount and percentages of waste from the selected county disposed within its boundaries, in other counties, and/or exported out of state.
  • County Construction and Demolition (C&D) Ordinances. These pages are a list of all jurisdictions in a County that have passed a C&D ordinance. The list also contains a short description about the ordinance.
  • California Waste Stream Profiles. This new site summarizes information on California’s waste stream through a series of profiles focusing on jurisdictions, facilities, and materials. The profiles include data on demographics, Board assistance (grants, loans, etc.), related Board actions, disposal and diversion rates, facilities information, GIS mapping, and waste tire issues.
  • Trends Graphs: A graph showing California waste generation, disposal, and diversion from 1989-2004, and another graph tracking the yearly change in percent of population, employment, inflation-adjusted taxable sales, and waste disposal from 1991-2004.
  • Statewide disposal and diversion rates. Check out this site for more information on statewide waste generation, diversion, and disposal rates.
  • Regional Agencies: A comprehensive list of all Board-approved regional agencies.
  • Geographic areas: A map of the state's geographic regions and brief descriptions of those areas and their proportions of statewide disposal.
