Population, Economic and Disposal Changes

This table shows percent change in California's population, employment, waste disposal, and inflation adjusted taxable sales since 1990.

Through 2004, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) was used to remove inflation from taxable sales amounts used in the diversion rate estimate. Beginning 2005, the Taxable Sales Deflator Index (TSDI) is used in this estimate because it is more accurate for use with taxable sales amounts.
