The following tools can assist you to search the site, define terms, look up publications, and ask questions about waste issues.

• Diversion, Planning and Local Assistance Acronyms. This list of acronyms helps jurisdictions, State agencies, large State facilities and other interested parties in interpreting acronyms frequently used in the CIWMB's work with local government.
• Local Government Assistance Library. The Board's local government reference library has links to Board policies, publications, newsletters as well as to sample/model documents submitted to the Board by local jurisdictions to share information.
• Local Government Central Index (Alphabetical) and Local Government Central Site Map (Topical)
• Local Government Central Glossary. This glossary includes many common terms used throughout the site. Many pages link to the glossary via green links.
• Local Government Central Search. Search the LG Central website to locate specific information.
• Local Assistance. Local Assistance helps local governments meet the planning and diversion mandates of the Integrated Waste Management Act of 1989 (IWMA). Local assistance staff serve as a liaison between local governments and the Board and its program areas.
• Publications Catalog. A complete online listing of Board publications, most available electronically. Local Assistance is one category in this catalog.
• Resources. This page provides links to other collections of resources that might be helpful to local jurisdictions.
• Technical Library. The Board's technical library is open to the public for reference use. The library's collection includes more than 8,000 books and documents and more than 100 journal subscriptions. The collection also includes videos, maps, and Board and Committee agendas and transcripts.
• WasteLine. The WasteLine goal is to provide customers with useful, reliable, current information about California's waste stream. In addition to answering your questions, WasteLine can provide readily available data and information.
