California Food Diversion Workshop Update

This all LEA E-mail was sent on behalf of Terry Brennan and the LEA Support Services Branch of the California Integrated Waste Management Board.

The California Integrated Waste Management Board's Statewide Food Residuals Diversion Summit (Summit) is fast approaching. The Summit is scheduled for October 22nd and 23rd in Sacramento, CA. The early registration deadline has passed, but there are still some registration and exhibitor spaces open.

The full Summit agenda and program information has been added to the registration website (no longer open).

Focus Group Sessions: Several brainstorming sessions will be held to identify and address challenges to various types of food recovery and diversion.  Some  topics to be addressed include:

  • Institutional/on-site composting
  • Packaging/contamination issues
