Environmental
Standard for Recycled-Content Latex Paint Completed
On August 9, 2006, Green Seal, Inc. and the Product Stewardship Institute
announced the completion of a national environmental standard for
recycled-content latex paint. The standard is aimed at assuring consumers that
recycled paint, in addition to being environmentally beneficial, can perform as
well as virgin paint, both in terms of ease of application and quality and
longevity of finish. The standard, GS-43, is now available
online.

and the environmentally friendly efforts undertaken by the Kimpton chain (which includes San Francisco's Hotel
Triton, a participant in the green lodging program).
Products Identified that Meet the New EPEAT “Green” Computer Standard
More than 60 desktop computers, laptops, and monitors from three manufacturers were recognized on July 24, 2006, as part of a United States Environmental Protection Agency funded effort to identify high-performance, environmentally friendly computer equipment. All of the products meet the new Electronic Product
Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) “green” computer standard and they are listed online in the EPEAT database.
Green Hotels List
The green lodging portion of this site has a new list of hotels that participate in the California Green Lodging Program. Use this list to find a hotel which employs environmentally sustainable practices.

More Hotels Go Green
Kimpton Hotels has agreed to go green and enroll all 12 of their San Francisco
based hotels in the California Green
Lodging Program by December 2005. Hilton Hotels Inc. has agreed to go green
and enroll all their California "Hilton Family" hotels, which include the
Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, Embassy Suites, and Doubletree properties by December
2005. A joint press event with the Board and Hilton was held at the San Diego
Mission Bay property on August 5, 2005.

Annual Recycled Product Trade Show
The Annual Recycled Product Trade Show
has merged with REXPO (Recycling Expo). REXPO will be held January 19-21, 2006
at the 30th Stockton Ag Expo at the San Joaquin Fairgrounds. Like the Recycled
Product Trade Show, REXPO will feature a wide variety of recycled-content and
environmentally preferable products (RCP and EPP) and services suitable for all
users. If you purchase, manufacture, supply, or sell RCPs or other EPPs, you
