Available, Fiscal Year 1999-2000 Issued: May 25, 2000 APPLICATION PERIOD IS CLOSED The California Integrated Waste Management Board (Board) operates the California Materials Exchange, CalMAX, as a free classified listing service to help reduce business waste. The basic concept is one business trash is anothers treasure. Businesses, government and nonprofits can advertise their useable discards as "available" through online listings and a quarterly printed catalog. They can also place "wanted" listings for materials or feedstocks they are seeking. Through the CalMAX Partnership Program, CalMAX is partnering with local governments to promote local and statewide materials exchange efforts. CalMAX Partners actively reach out to local businesses to let them know about CalMAX, enter or help businesses enter data into the CalMAX database, and track successful CalMAX connections. The Board allocated $100,000 for CalMAX Partnership Mini-Grants to help CalMAX partners promote CalMAX to businesses in their communities. Eligible applicants may have requested up to $10,000. Applicants were required to provide matching funds equal to the amount of the requested grant. Grants were awarded on a competitive basis according to the criteria set forth in the application. All funds must be expended by October 6, 2001. Applicant Eligibility Eligible Projects Question/Answer Deadline Application
