Surplus Property in San Mateo

Russ Hayes of the San Mateo County Surplus Property Office advertises used office equipment and furniture in CalMAX. Just recently, he sold some used desks which had become surplus through an office upgrade. Hayes has been using CalMAX for about three years and has received many calls for things his company has listed, such as wood pallets and burlap bags.

Hayes says he appreciates the Integrated Waste Management Board for underwriting CalMAX and assisting in reuse efforts within all regions of the state. He also muses that "it would be helpful if there was a chat room for reuse for business excess goods!"

Goods at the Office of Surplus Property can be purchased by anyone at the monthly public sale held the last Friday of every month from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
