Gov. Schwarzenegger Applauds Cleanup and Restoration of Santa Cruz Island (May 1, 2008)
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger today commended the historic restoration of one of California's most significant and fragile natural habitats, and praised the partnership among state, federal and non-profit agencies behind the effort. Santa Cruz Island, the largest of the eight Channel Islands, is being cleaned up and restored through a collective effort of The Nature Conservancy, National Park Service and the California Integrated Waste Management Board. (Posted May 2, 2008)

Board Unanimously Adopted Strategic Directives: Going after the next 50 percent. 
SACRAMENTO -- In 2006 the Board leadership began to examine how the Integrated Waste Management Board would continue to affect change following meeting the Integrated Waste Management Act mandate of reaching 50 percent diversion statewide. The Board unanimously adopted the strategic directives at its February 13, 2007 meeting. These strategic directives shall serve as a tool that will allow the CIWMB to continue to provide outstanding service to the State of California and reduce the amount of resources being wasted. (Posted Jun 21, 2007)
