Rechargeable Battery and Charger Sources

This page contains lists of manufacturers and distributors of Nickel-Cadmium (NiCd) batteries, Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries, Low Self Discharge (LSD) batteries, and the chargers needed to maintain these batteries. The distributor list contains only distributors of rechargeable batteries and chargers designed to be used as substitutes for disposable batteries of the sizes AAA, AA, C, D, and 9 Volt. Not all distributors listed carry all sizes of batteries. Not all distributors listed carry chargers for all sizes of batteries.

Note—LSD and NiMH batteries are readily available in AAA and AA sizes from many sources. C and D sizes are harder to find. LSD batteries are different than other rechargeable batteries because they lose significantly less charge when not in use. According to manufacturers, they lose only 15 percent per year, compared to 4 percent per day for ordinary NiMH. See AAA and AA Rechargeable Batteries Compared. LSD batteries can be charged with ordinary NiMH chargers.

• Accupower Acculoop. Available in 2,100 mAh AA, 800 mAh AAA, 4,500 mAh C, and 8,500 mAh D sizes.
• Greenbatteries.com. Available in 2,000 mAh capacity AA size, and 800 mAh AAA size. Bulk discounts are available.
• Nexcell energyON. Available in 2,000/2100 mAh capacity AA size, and 750/800 mAh capacity AAA size.
• Rayovac Hybrid. Available in 2,000 mAh capacity AA size, and 800 mAh AAA size.
• Sanyo Eneloop. Available in 2,000 mAh capacity AA size, and 800 mAh AAA size.
