The Targeted Rubberized Asphalt Concrete Incentive (TRI) Grant Program provides assistance to local governments to fund rubberized asphalt concrete (RAC) projects. It is designed to promote markets for recycled-content products derived from waste tires generated in California and decrease the adverse environmental impacts created by unlawful disposal and stockpiling of waste tires. Cities, counties, districts, and other local government agencies that fund public works projects are eligible to apply for this grant program. For fiscal years 2005/06 and 2006/07, the funding available was $3,577,000 and $2,182,818, respectively. Applications were accepted on a continuous basis, and funds were awarded on a monthly basis.
