Waste Tire Amnesty Day Grant Program

Waste Tire Amnesty Day Grant: FY 2004-2005

Background
The CIWMB provides a Waste Tire Amnesty Day Grant Program to help divert waste tires from landfill disposal, prevent illegal tire dumping, and educate the public about waste tire recycling and proper tire maintenance. California jurisdictions, including cities, counties, special districts, other political subdivisions and jurisdictions joined together by formal agreements, as well as California Indian Tribes, are eligible to apply for these competitive grants. Funding
The CIWMB is expecting to offer a total of $500,000 in this grant cycle (fiscal year 2004-05). Each applicant may apply for up to $20,000. If two or more jurisdictions join together using a formal agreement, they may apply for $25,000 per jurisdiction up to a maximum of $100,000.

February 2005 Board considers funding recommendations.
March 2005-April 30, 2007 Grant term.
