Resources, Assistance, and Training

The Board assists State agencies and facilities to reduce the amount of waste they generate and dispose of by implementing waste prevention, reuse, and recycling programs.

The Board's role includes:

  • Training and advising State employees and recycling coordinators.
  • Gathering and reporting data on materials collected for recycling.
  • Assisting local governments in meeting solid waste reduction goals.
  • Setting a good example of State leadership in conserving natural resources through waste prevention, recycling, and buying recycled products.

The following information is available to help State agencies and large State facilities understand and implement their waste management annual reporting requirements (as mandated by the passage of AB 75 in 1999).
