Governor's Environmental and Economic Leadership Awards

Green Flag Program
The Green Flag Program is a new project of the national Child Proofing Our Communities Campaign, coordinated by the Center for Health, Environment and Justice. The program will help communities make their schools healthier places to learn, and to educate students about environmental responsibility. Students will work with adults to investigate environmental issues, research problems and find solutions and educate peers to promote policy changes in the school. With each positive step that school communities take, the Child Proofing Campaign presents awards to the school and students, culminating in the presentation of the Green Flag Award of Environmental Leadership.

President’s Environmental Youth Awards
Sponsored by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, this program recognizes young people across America for projects that demonstrate their commitment to the environment. Projects submitted in the past have covered a wide range of subject areas, including recycling programs in schools and communities.
