The Board's SWIS Digital Inspections Program (a.k.a. "SWIS DIP") will be a voluntary program allowing local enforcement agencies to submit their statutorily mandated solid waste facility inspection data in paperless, electronic format using either data entry on a web form, or batch submittal using XML. A summary of the program with screen snap of prototype screens is available (MS PowerPoint or PDF).

Anticipated Schedule:

• October 2008: Program specifications and procedures released to all interested parties to solicit feedback and offers to participate in the program from interested LEAs.
• November 5, 2008: Workshop at LEA Conference discussing the program and demonstrating the web site.
• November/December 2008: Pilot usage of the program by a small number of LEAs.
• 1st Half of 2009: Program extended to all interested LEAs after pilot testing completed.
