Innovative Eco-Pop Designs of Moss Beach Earns California's Top Waste Reduction Honor for RecyclingMOSS BEACH—Eco-Pop Designs in Moss Beach received the State of California's top waste reduction environmental award today for outstanding achievement in onsite recycling, materials reuse and diversion, and waste prevention. One of only 10 businesses statewide to earn this distinction, Eco-Pop Designs was presented with the 2004 Waste Reduction Awards Program WRAP of the Year honor by the California Integrated Waste Management Board. "The innovative and artistic recycling containers that Eco-Pop Designs manufactures are helping to bring California closer to a zero waste society," said Board Chair Rosario Marin during the award ceremony, held at scenic Vista Point off the Golden Gate Bridge where the company's steel recycling containers are in prominent use. "It's a pleasure to honor this business and its voluntary waste reduction efforts. Eco-Pop has earned a place among California's distinguished WRAP of the Year winners." Located in Moss Beach, Eco-Pop Designs uses art, ecology, and invention to create environmentally friendly products that promote recycling. The business manufactures all-metal recycling containers using the highest amount of recycled and reused materials available. Eco-Pop Designs actively promotes materials reuse, recycling, and waste reduction and has been committed to environmental issues for more than 10 years. The company has earned a number of awards at the State of California Integrated Waste Management Board's annual Recycled Products Trade Show—held to promote uses and markets for recycled-content goods and materials. "Our deep commitment to the environment has always been the number-one priority and driving force for our business," said Mitch Reid, owner and founder of Eco-Pop Designs. "It is our strong belief that all businesses can reduce their impact on our natural resources if they are willing to be creative and committed. We want to show by example that you can make products that will help save resources and, at the same time, can be produced with minimal impact on the environment. It is a great honor to receive this WRAP of the Year award from the California Integrated Waste Management Board. The Board provides great inspiration and resources to help California citizens and businesses like ours achieve notable waste reduction while also protecting the environment. We hope the WRAP awards inspire other businesses to help preserve the earth's limited natural resources."
