Publication Announcements

To all LEAs:

I am very pleased to announce the publication of the first pages of the Permit Toolbox.

Please consider the first publication of any new pages as "drafts" until they are tested by LEAs. Your comments are important and will be used to refine and improve the site.

This initial offering contains:

• Examples of some of the pages that will be accessible from the various menus, laundry lists, and other tools.
• Information on the background, design, and schedule of the permit toolbox.
• An invitation to share your suggestions on the design and content of the web site.

You can access the Permit Toolbox at http://www.ciwmb.ca.gov/PermitToolbox/.

Many more pages will be published almost weekly over the next few months. Coming in February 2001 for your online review:

• Draft RDSI Guidance Document for online review by LEAs, operators, and Board staff.
• More "Laundry List" links.
• LEA permit process task lists and checklists that were first tested by LEAs at the August 2000 LEA Conference.
• And more!

Please send me your comments and ideas on the site design and content. I look forward to receiving more of your suggestions as the various pages of this site go on line over the next few months.

Also, please forward your best examples of permit documents to post and share on the web site. For example:

• Permit Review Reports and Notification Letters
• Application Submittal Cover Letters (from applicant)
• Application Acceptance or Rejection Letters
• Proposed Permit Submittal Letters
• Issued Permits
• Sample RDSI Language
• Other letters that help document the permit process.
