What Happens to Waste Tires?
- 20.1 million tires are annually diverted from landfills (64.5 %)
- 12 million are landfilled or illegally dumped
- 15 million accumulated waste tires are stockpiled
throughout the state, with more added annually

New Law effective January 2001
- Trucks must have a waste tire hauler decal permanently affixed to the
lower right hand corner of the windshield.
- Waste hauler registration certificate is to be carried inside the vehicle
at all times.
- Waste Tire Manifest to accompany all loads: must be completed by the
generator, hauler, and destination site.
