Building Stronger Bridges

This year's theme was a continuation of the 2001 conference "Bridges to Common Ground" and was  appropriately titled "Building Stronger Bridges" (thank you Rick Miller). 180 people had a chance to attend this conference, including 106 LEA staff and 74 Board staff. A great big thanks to the steering committee for all your time and hard work in designing the conference agenda! And thank you to everyone else who headed a networking event, presented at the conference, worked on the Icebreakers, manned a booth, and helped in any other way--it truly is a cooperated effort to pull together the conference. This year's conference was a great success. Conference evaluations stated this effort to be the best so far! 

Also, new this year was a two-hour exhibitor show on day one of the conference. This was a great opportunity to discover the latest solid waste landfill related products and services that are available. We had 8 industry vendors, 3 state agencies and 9 CIWMB  booths. Next year, our aim is to increase the outside vendor participation. 

Using Less Paper: In 2000, we adopted a less paper conference and have been encouraged to continue this format. Rather than distribute printed proceedings, reference materials are posted on our web site. Please refer to the online agenda to view materials.
