Saving Money and Improving Efficiency of Packaging in Distribution Systems

Workshop of the Shipping and Distribution Partnership

Welcome to the workshop Web site for the Shipping and Distribution Partnership!  The title says it all--"Saving Money and Improving Efficiency of Packaging in Distribution Systems."  Themes of the workshop included improving efficiency, cutting waste, and saving money.

The workshop was held:
October 9, 1997
at San Jose State University

Committee Meeting

As a result of the workshop, staff submitted recommendations at the CIWMB's Policy, Research & Technical Assistance Committee meeting in April 1998.  Below is the agenda item that was presented to the Committee. Its attachment is a fact sheet intended to be used to inform manufacturers, retailers, and other stakeholders about the benefits of efficient shipping and distribution and to encourage them to take a closer look at how they can make improvements.

Item: Consideration of Findings of the Shipping and Distribution Partnership

Attachment 1: Taking Packaging for Granted, Can You Afford To?
