Solid Waste Facility Tipping Fees

Tipping fee (or gate or user fee) information is obtained by a survey of solid waste management facilities in California conducted by the Board. Only the information received from respondents to each survey is included. The list then reflects only those facilities that responded, not all facilities in California.

Each survey respondent identifies the category (landfill, transfer station, material recovery facility) into which their facility falls.

A weighted average tipping fee is included which is calculated based on the survey response and the level of disposal reported to the State Board of Equalization in conjunction with paying the Integrated Waste Management Fee.

The data fields include:

County	California county in which the facility is located.
SWIS Number	Facility number according to the CIWMB's Solid Waste Information System.
Site Name	Facility name according to the CIWMB's Solid Waste Information System.
Category	Facility category as indicated by the survey respondent.
Comp Rate $/Ton	Tipping fee charged on a weight basis (tons) for compacted solid waste.
Comp Rate $/CY	Tipping fee charged on a volume basis (cubic yards) for compacted solid waste.
NonComp Rate $/Ton	Tipping fee charged on a weight basis (tons) for loose or uncompacted solid waste.
NonComp Rate $/CY	Tipping fee charged on a volume basis (cubic yards) for loose or uncompacted solid waste.
