Regulations Alert! Temporary Permit Regulations

On January 23, 2008, the Board adopted emergency regulations (MS Word, 366 KB) for temporary solid waste facilities permits and directed staff to submit the emergency regulations to the Office of Administrative Law (OAL) for review and approval. The Board also directed staff to review the draft text to address the issues that were discussed during the Board meeting.

CIWMB staff is preparing to submit the regulations to OAL by March 1, 2008. OAL will have 10 calendar days to approve or deny. The regulations will become effective immediately upon OAL's approval.

Once the regulation is approved and takes effect, final application date for the temporary permit is 60 days from the effective date of the regulation. LEAs should start alerting those that will be affected by these regulations as soon as possible.
