Questions and Answers Regarding Landfill Gas Monitoring and Control Systems at Active Disposal Sites Now Available
Compliance with the new standards requires installation and monitoring of all required wells and probes by September 20, 2008, not just submittal of a proposed control system, for all facilities permitted for more than 20 tons per day of solid waste. The proposed systems must be approved by the enforcement agency, with concurrence from CIWMB. Plans should be sent to your Permitting and LEA Support Division contact who will facilitate the review and response. Questions and answers (Adobe PDF, 202 KB) regarding this process are available.
Background information regarding these regulations is also available.
