SB 675/Organics WorkshopGoal: The purpose of this exercise is to explore the level of regulatory oversight participants believe various compostable organic materials sites should have. Participants may discuss an existing operation or create an operation for discussion. Exercise: Please create or describe a type of compostable organic materials operation that you might find in your jurisdiction by using the "other" for each category or by circling one from each of the following categories: volume on-site at any one time, feedstock, type of processing, and contaminants. Or you may select to use the operation described in the envelope.
Describe the operation:
If you were able to slot the above operation in any tier or prescribe any regulatory control (you have a magic wand for the day), what would you do? Please decide which tier is most appropriate for the operation selected (the appropriate regulatory tier may not be the current one in regulation). Tier ______________________ and/or Regulatory Control(s) Needed __________________________ Which criteria are most important in deciding the appropriate level of regulatory oversight and why? 1.
