At the March 29, 2005 workshop these top possible solutions and next steps
were identified by stakeholders.Top 4 Potential Solutions
- Develop more educational materials.
- Develop a fire prevention/response model ordinance.
- Develop best management practices (BMP) to mitigate fires
- Promote systematic coordination.
Next Steps
- Continue to receive comments from local enforcement agencies (LEA), operators, fire service, etc.
- Continue to update website.
- Develop action plan for BMPs, model ordinance, training, and
systematic coordination.
- Plan coordination meetings in fall 2005. Bring together LEAs,
operators, fire service and others to discuss regional solutions
including BMPs and information sharing.
- Obtain approval from appropriate governing bodies for further
actions if necessary
