Preparing Sampling and Analysis Plans

A sampling and analysis plan is intended to document the procedural and analytical requirements for sampling events performed to collect gas and soil samples and to characterize areas exceeding regulatory thresholds. A basic sampling plan should include the following elements:

Forms

Sampling Log (Adobe PDF, 5 KB | MS Excel, 16 KB): Tracks where and when soil samples were taken, the sample identification number, and a physical description of the soil. It also has a place to record field survey data such as gas readings, pH, etc.

Trench Log (Adobe PDF, 21 KB | MS Word, 100 KB): For drawing the cross-section of a trench and writing a physical description of the soil/ash/waste encountered. It also tracks the time, date, trench identification number, etc.
