SB 20 Stakeholder Informational Workshop

The Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003  (SB 20, Sher, Chapter 562, Statutes of 2003) was signed into law on September 24, 2003. As this legislation is implemented, a variety of workshops will be held to gather input from affected stakeholders and other interested parties.

The CIWMB and DTSC invited all interested stakeholders to an informational workshop held on Thursday, October 16 from 1:30 to 4:00 p.m. in the Central Valley Auditorium at the Cal/EPA building. A live Web broadcast of this event was available.

The workshop was an informal opportunity to talk with DTSC and CIWMB staff about issues around implementation of SB 20, including the anticipated role of the manufacturers, local government, recyclers and other stakeholders. Officials from CIWMB and DTSC were present to discuss initial plans for implementing the legislation by the two organizations. 

The focus of the meeting was to receive input from stakeholders, rather than attempt to respond to specific questions. 

Please note: Stakeholders will continue to have several options for providing input about the implementation of SB 20:
