This electronic newsletter is an update on the implementation of California's Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 and other electronic waste (e-waste) management developments in California.

#### Reminder: Net Cost Reports Due To CIWMB Soon; Revised Forms Available ####

If your business or organization participated in the Covered Electronic Waste Recovery and Recycling Payment System during 2006, the following reminder is directed at you:

ANNUAL NET COST REPORTS DUE MARCH 1, 2007: Regulations adopted by the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) to implement portions of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act require approved collectors and recyclers to maintain records documenting operational costs, and annually to submit a report to the CIWMB on the net costs of collecting and recycling covered electronic wastes (CEWs). The next report is due on or before March 1, 2007.

In response to questions raised during a recent web-based Net Cost Report training session, the CIWMB has made slight changes to the net cost reporting forms and Guide, including:

*Clarifying that any purchases of CEW by approved collectors should be described under Line 29, and not included under supplies on Line 13.

*Clarifying that Line 16 should include all debt service payments (including both interest and principal payments); and

The Excel worksheets have also been formatted so totals are automatically tabulated.

The revised forms and Guide have been posted to the CIWMB's website:

While reports already submitted on the original forms are acceptable, approved participants who have yet to submit are strongly urged to use the revised forms.
