CIWMB TO CONSIDER PROPOSED REVISIONS TO EMERGENCY REGULATIONS AT OCTOBER COMMITTEE AND BOARD MEETINGS

=====================

#### CIWMB to Consider Proposed Revisions to Emergency Regulations at October Committee and Board Meetings ####

The California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) will consider proposed revisions to existing emergency regulations governing the covered electronic waste (CEW) recovery and recycling and payment system at its October 4, 2005 Sustainability and Market Development Committee meeting and at its October 18-19, 2005 Board meeting. The proposed language, an overview of the proposed revisions, the existing emergency regulations, and more information on CIWMB Committee and Board meetings can be accessed through:
www.ciwmb.ca.gov/Electronics/Act2003/Regulations/Emergency/Revision1.htm

It is anticipated that the Committee item (Item O) will be heard time-certain at 11:00 a.m. October 4th.

Please note that the proposed revisions to be considered by the CIWMB differ slightly from what was posted in draft for stakeholder review. Specifically, minor adjustments were made in the proposed additions to Applicability and Limitations section addressing with source-anonymous CEWs (Section 18660.6(c)(3)&(4)) to clarify the types of activities and incidents that could generate payment-eligible source-anonymous CEWs. Additionally, the requirements associated with source-anonymous CEW collection (18660.20(j)(1)(D)) were modified to clarify documentation requirements.
