Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003:
Emergency Regulations

Description
To implement certain provisions of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act of 2003 (SB 20 and SB 50, Sher) in a timely manner, the California Integrated Waste Management Board (CIWMB) originally adopted emergency regulations.

Attention: The final regulations to implement and govern aspects of the Act, including the covered electronic waste (CEW) recovery and recycling payment system have been adopted by the CIWMB and approved by OAL. Learn more at the Rulemaking website. Affected parties are encouraged to familiarize themselves with both statute and all associated regulations

Text of revised emergency regulations
, dated December 5, 2005 (MS Word, 233 KB). These regulations were considered by the California Integrated Waste Management Board at its Sustainability and Market Development Committee meeting on November 8, 2005, and adopted at its full Board meeting on November 15, 2005. The Office of Administrative Law (OAL) approved the regulations on December 5, 2005. Note: These emergency regulation have been replaced by final regulations and are no longer in effect!
