California Greenin': Green Guide
Financial Support
There are many opportunities for financial support when it comes to practicing sustainability. Look at these great programs or use the contact information shown at the bottom of the CIWMB's Grants and Loans web page to find out more.
- CIWMB Grants and Loans. The CIWMB offers funding opportunities authorized by legislation to assist public and private entities in the safe and effective management of the waste stream.
- California Department of Conservation, Division of Recycling (DOR) Grants. The DOR administers funding programs to assist organizations with establishing convenient beverage container recycling and litter abatement projects, and to encourage market development and expansion activities for beverage container materials.
- California Pollution Control Financing Authority (CPCFA). The CPCFA implemented the Sustainable Communities Grant and Loan Program (PDF, 46 KB) to assist cities and counties to develop and implement sustainable development growth policies, programs and projects.
- Recycling Market Development Zone Program. The Recycling Market Development Zone program combines recycling with economic development to fuel new businesses, expand existing ones, create jobs, and divert waste from landfills. This program provides attractive loans, technical assistance, and free product marketing to businesses that use materials from the waste stream to manufacture their products and are located in a zone.
