Above: On August 17, 2007, Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi paid a visit to the Angora Fire Debris Removal Command Center to hear firsthand the progress being made on the recovery and rebuild efforts. The Lt. Governor was joined by Secretary for Resources Mike Chrisman, Office of Emergency Services Director Henry Renteria, El Dorado County Supervisors Helen Baumann and Norma Santiago, and City of South Lake Tahoe Mayor Kathay Lovell. The Lt. Governor was briefed on how the debris removal process is working and the next phase of recovery as well as hearing from several residents and victims of the fire.
