Angora Fire Debris Removal Project

In an unprecedented effort to remove debris from destroyed
properties following the June 24, 2007 Angora Wildfire, State and
local officials announce the conclusion of the debris removal
process on the 257 properties that were destroyed when the fire
erupted through the 3,100 acres near South Lake Tahoe. The cleanup
effort was completed more than a week ahead of the scheduled
September 1 deadline, removing tons of ash and rubble and allowing
residents to begin to rebuild and bring a sense of normalcy back to
their lives.
