Well, spring is here once again and I suspect many of you are out there preparing those raised beds for this year’s crop of home-grown, organic tomatoes. Be sure to read through this catalog’s insert section for information about resource-efficient gardening and landscaping, composting, water conservation, and more. We also have various links to organizations that may be helpful with your work in the yard and garden. Also, if you have a few good recipes for fresh tomato salads, be sure to send them my way. In our continuing efforts to bring you more current materials information, CalMAX has a new feature: a "listserv" is now available. Once you subscribe, we will send you e-mails twice a month letting you know of new ads in CalMAX. In this Issue In the Creative Reuse feature, Sarah Weimer writes about a very interesting and creative artist in the Los Angeles area. Peter Miro creates amazingly detailed, miniature science fiction spaceship models using recycled material. In the Electronics Update article, Terri Cronin discusses the implementation of the Electronic Waste Recycling Act (SB 20, Sher, Chapter 526, Statutes of 2003). Finally, the insert section of the catalog is all about organic landscaping, gardening, and composting; all timely information to help us with our summer gardening. |
