The Compliance Evaluation and Enforcement Division is responsible for all compliance and enforcement activities related to solid waste and tire facilities, and illegal tire disposal; compliance activities related to the Board's minimum content programs (newsprint, trash bags and rigid plastic containers); and compliance activities related to local jurisdiction and state agency waste management planning and diversion requirements. The division is divided into three branches: The Tire Facilities, Operations, and Evaluations Branch, the Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Facilities, Operations, and Evaluations Branch, and the Jurisdiction and Minimum Content Compliance Branch. The Tire Facilities, Operations, and Evaluations Branch's primary goal is to reduce and to the extent possible eliminate the potential for waste tire fires and reduce waste tire piles that contribute to the breeding of vectors. The MSW Facilities, Operations, and Evaluations Branch is responsible for local enforcement agency (LEA) evaluations, and State-mandated inspections and enforcement at solid waste facilities, including inspections and enforcement as the enforcement agency (EA) in jurisdictions where there is no LEA.
